Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Since the start of the Major League Baseball season, I have been itching to go to a game. After calling up a couple of my friends who were busy, I made one last desperate attempt - I called my sister. Her friend, Tim, was visiting this weekend and they really didn't have anything to do, so she thought it was a great idea.

One of the motivations behind going to a game on Saturday was the weather. I thought it was supposed to be 60's and sunny. I was wrong. Just like when I went to a Cubs game in April last year, I froze my butt off. Instead of 60's and sunny, it was 40's, cloudy, and lots and lots of wind.

That wasn't enough to keep me from having a good time. I was in Wrigley Field, on Kerry Wood's first home pitching day, with the potential to see Sammy Sosa's 501st home run. Unfortunately, Sosa never did hit number 501. The only hit he got was a double in the sixth inning. However, Kerry Wood pitched a great game. He went nine innings, giving up no runs, and struck out 13 batters.

The Cubs ended up winning 4-0. Although it was very cold, it was nice to get out and see a ballgame. Now, I've just got to wait a couple more weeks to see the new field in Cincinnati.
