Another signature on the helmet
One year ago I started working on a 49er memorabilia piece with an autograph of my favorite player, Jerry Rice. I had him sign a full-size, authentic 49ers helmet. My plan is to get as many 49ers to sign it as I can. On March 15, I was able to add Hall-of-Famer Ronnie Lott to the helmet.
The Sun Times sports card show is always a big event. Each year they have about 25 super-star athletes sign autographs. This year's list of athletes included Howie Long, Marcus Allen, Rickey Williams, Lawrence Taylor, Pete Rose, Mike Ditka and many others including Ronnie Lott.
As with most autographs, the worst part is the standing in line. Usually, it's not a problem at this show because they assign everybody numbers and then call them in order. But Lott ended up being an hour and a half late so it was a lot of sitting around.
Now that I've got Jerry Rice and Ronnie Lott on my helmet, I am looking to get Joe Montana, Steve Young, Roger Craig, Jeff Garcia, Terrell Owens or most any other 49er.
